At TLA, our main priority is the health, safety and welfare of our staff, students, volunteers and their families. All staff and volunteers at TLA undertake annual training sessions in health, safety and welfare - these sessions include, but are not limited to, safeguarding vulnerable children and adults, emergency first aid, 1 to 1 working and risk assessing in the performing arts education setting. As well as these training sessions, all our staff are asked to complete at least one CPD training session in their chosen discipline, per year. This ensures that our training is fresh, current and staff are teaching to industry leading standards.
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, we've added additional, essential, training requirements: all staff and weekly on site volunteers have now completed CPD certified Covid 19 training.
Additionally, our head of health and safety and child protection officer has created a brand new health and safety document that details the measures and precautions TLA has and will take to ensure the health, safety and welfare of our staff, students, volunteers and their families. This has been read and signed by all members of staff and they've agreed to the terms and conditions set out within the document that details how they will teach their subjects and the measures they will individually take to ensure TLA standards are kept exceptionally high and TLA remains a safe, happy and secure place for everyone.
Guidelines were sent out to all of our students and their families and our our overarching aim is still to keep TLA a fun, friendly and vibrant place to train, whilst not exposing anyone to potential harm.
As government advice changes, TLA will ensure that our policies and procedures follow health and safety regulations and this may mean rapid response changes. TLA aim to provide stability and routine for our staff and students and allow for them to adjust to their new normal without weekly changes being made that may confuse them further. Should measures tighten, we will of course, reflect this in our daily operations and this will be communicated immediately to all our students, staff, volunteers and their families.
